Tweaker with an Axe

(2009)

Synopsis: Ben, a grad student and aspiring screenwriter, is prepping his final thesis project for film school: "Zombiemania", an over-the-top horror romp which he plans to film in his own apartment. He entrusts his fellow classmate Cassie to hire some top-notch students to shoot the film, and hopes they don’t run into trouble from his creepy neighbor, a drug addict and speed dealer with a mean disposition and notoriously short fuse.

As the production gets under way, Ben is startled by the flagrant lack of commitment from the cast and crew that Cassie has selected. There’s Andre, the gossipy, flamboyant make-up artist; Nanette, the lazy alcoholic production assistant; Tyler and Charlie, the two stars of the picture, who take their on-screen affection behind the scenes too; Tracy, the other production assistant, who has myriad personal dramas; and Logan, the butch-girl workhorse whom Cassie continually leads on with empty promises of affection.

And then, during the shoot, people inexplicably start to go missing. Eventually it becomes clear that someone is stalking the film crew, and the real horror is not happening on screen; it’s happening all around them. It's hopped up on speed...and it's got an axe.

Synopsis: Ethan’s new apartment is giving him trouble: things don’t work as they should, and the landlord seems like a real sleazeball. So he and his boyfriend Jasper plan a romantic evening together to ease his mind, complete with scary movies, popcorn, and heavy petting. The old building creaks and groans around them, but they take no notice. As they kiss and caress, something stirs within the deep dark. Something hellishly old and insatiably hungry. And soon it will be coming for them, with burning eyes and razor-sharp claws...
